Micron appoints Mark Durcan as new CEO

following the fatal plane crash last week that claimed the life of its CEO, Micron Technology has appointed a successor, Mark Durcan. The former chief technology officer has been with the company since 1984 and has - by the Articles of Association - serving as acting chief since February 03. Robert Switz, chief of the company before the Commission, shall act as chairman and Mark Adams, a former vice president of worldwide sales, was named company president. In a press release announcing the appointments, the new CEO says that the company was "deeply saddened" to learn of the death of its CEO and management team will work diligently to "continue advance the company forward.
