Alienware X51 gaming PC: We go hands-on at the London launch event

Alienware

is a recent attempt to fire a salvo across the bow of the flagship Sony and Microsoft's game. It seems that the apple of the eye (slightly overweight) of torque, as a console alternate universe. The X51 borrowed liberally from design schools, both the Xbox (dull side) and the PlayStation 3 (slot-loading optical drive, the brightness of the front panel). The Alienware logo rotates to accommodate both vertical and horizontal configurations. The device is about the size of the original PS3, but it looked very small compared to a litany of holes in the back of the X51, including a large number of USB ports and audio options .
