LightSquared gets desperate, seeks regulatory changes to satisfy GPS debacle

If we had the type of bet - and hell, some of us - I bet you a crisp ten points LightSquared is not going to alleviate the concerns of GPS interference problems with the FCC in the coming weeks. After stating that the test reports before interference were manipulated by the internal GPS receiver, the LTE network is now able to receive political argument and asked the FCC to institute standards for new versions of the GPS equipment. LightSquared argues that GPS devices on the market today are poorly designed and deliberately invade the spectrum licensed by the company. Of course, this change would do little to correct the interference likely million / (do?) Devices on the market, but notes that LightSquared himself admits the FCC, GPS receivers must "reasonably discriminate against reception of signals outside their allocated spectrum.
