RIM offers free apps to make up for that whole BlackBerry outage thing

co-CEO of RIM Mike Lazaridis has already apologized for the interruption of the popular BlackBerry last week, but apparently that was not enough. Today, the manufacturer announced that it offers its customers a complete list of "premium apps" for free, hoping to regain some of the differences he lost after the mysterious crash. In a statement, the company said the move is "an expression of gratitude" for the patience that many BlackBerry users shown in the incident, and Mike Lazaridis said his company remains "committed to providing the level of high confidence "that consumers have come to expect. For now, the company has a total of 12 applications (collectively worth about $ 100), including the Sims 3, iSpeech Translator Pro and Encore Shazam, among others, but will be added at a later date. The offer starts Wednesday and will last one month, head past the break to see what gifts are in.
