ITC sides with Apple, bans sale and import of some HTC phones (updated)

ITC ruling

ITC ruled in favor of Apple Inc., which prohibits the sale and import or some HTC phones in the U.S. .. The decision, which was finally delivered today after being delayed twice, is that a couple of HTC violates patents the Cupertino company in connection with the data format (such as phone numbers) in other documents unstructured manner (such as email) allows users to interact with them. The ban is expected to be enacted before April 19, 2012, HTC and Google what a lot of time to address the concerns of the court. The Taiwanese manufacturer could simply remove the functionality of their phones, however, the ability to interact with this information across applications, such as using a phone number in an e-mail to mark it, it ' is the ability of most consumers expect their support systems.

International Trade Commission did not review the HTC violated two patents in question other than with respect to signal processing in real time and would have been much more difficult to circumvent HTC . Of course, this saga is far from over and we hope that these two (with virtually all other manufacturers in the mobile world) continue to battle it out in court rather than in our stores.
