Google Kills Tricorder Android App After CBS Sends A DMCA Takedown?

It's pretty ridiculous. Brig C. McCoy warns on new, via Slashdot, CBS sent a DMCA notice to Google because of silly, but very popular, tricorder Android, made ??you look like an Android Star Trek
tricorder.

fans
Tricorder Sorry, Tricorder has been removed from Google's Android Market, the demand for legal weasels CBS. All this happened without any discussion or warning - which was served only after the fact.
legal weasels Since I have mine, or time to deal with this is to Tricorder.

is apparently the design is at stake, not the name. According to Wikipedia, "Gene Roddenberry contract included a clause that allows any company to develop technology capable of operating to use the name." GR Now he is dead, I guess CBS thinks they own swoopy curves. "/ Aa>
I wonder if there is a real author here at all, although I understand why the developer does not want to fight against him. Yet it is a shame that CBS felt the need to attack
Star Trek fans for no good reason. Of course, given as anti-fan statements Eugene Roddenberry, which makes you wonder if the path leads back CBS
