Only recently, if I am asked to describe a modern guitar effects unit, something like the Boss GR-55 may come to mind. Since the introduction of iPhone and iPad music creation application such as IK Multimedia AmpliTube, however, the multi-processing effects and amp / cab emulation has increased since the pedal to the floor and in the hands of the player.
