From the lab: Lumia 920 low-light shootout with Nokia 808, iPhone 5, HTC One X and Galaxy S III

From the lab Lumia 920 lowlight shootout with Nokia 808, iPhone 5, HTC One X and Galaxy S III video

seems controversial marketing move Nokia, which involved the use of professional DSLR to "simulate" in low light, is even less accurate than the manufacturer of smartphones might think. During our visit to the company's research in Tampere, Finland and resort development, we have access to a comprehensive test, allowing us to take pictures with Lumia 920 prototypes and a handful of competing products in a controlled lighting. Technicians off the lights and take a static scene with each phone in just 5 lux - a level at the height of what you can expect in a poorly lit street in the middle of the night. The 920 took the cake, no doubt, but the iPhone does not really hurt himself, seizing the light almost as much as the Nokia. The 808 PureView also worked pretty well, but the X One HTC and Samsung Galaxy S III results were unusable.

is one thing to commit adequate exposure, however - capture fine details with low noise and color balance of high quality is a completely different beast, and managed to do exactly Lumia that, as we will see in our 100 percent overlooking moves later. Later in the evening, the streets of Helsinki for a shoot in the real world. The 920 does present some problems and other exaggerated jerky rapid movements, but in general, excellent results, even in scenes that were too dark for us to distinguish the details of our own eyes. Our evening session can be found in the gallery below, followed by a bunch of pictures for comparison after the break.
