Irony: FBI Says Apple Letting You Remotely Kill iPhones They've Taken Is 'Big Brother-ish'

specialized points us to a report at Wired on one (via the Freedom of Information Act) report from the FBI, as it prepares for dealing with smart phones and faster and 4G mobile data networks. Not surprisingly, the FBI worried about what this means for the prosecution. Not too long ago, we have determined that the feds had to send documents to the local police force, they warned the ability of the iPhone owners remotely wipe the device, using a tool developed to deal with thieves. But instead the FBI describes a possible future addition to this - with voice recognition or facial features to enable this - as "Big Brotherish" (you can see on page 79, the embedded document below):
In a move that Big Brother-ish, Apple has a patent in the works, the voice and face recognition technology could lead to a "kill switch" on its popular iPhone, which shut down when hackers "jailbreak" or activate has apparently unlock your phone to install unauthorized programs on it or try to steal information from an unsuspecting iPhone user.
Apparently the FBI is doesn 't quite understand that "Big Brother" is the government.

And speaking of "Big Brotherish," it seems, that the feds main problem with LTE 4G networks is that, since they can send more data, this means a greater "firehose" of data to cope with .
One notable effect is that Law Enforcement Agencies (LEA) have intercepts with significantly higher data rates than the current wireless network deal.
I recognize that they 're just the description of the problem, but isn' t admit it effectively, that they get far too much information. If you 're always a "firehose" of data, you' re it wrong (and potentially illegal).
