Boot up: ads v users, Windows 8 'Blue' sighted, FAA yes to e-readers? and more

more ads if it moves on plans to monitor Mozilla >> Computerworld
industry of online advertising Mozilla attacked for his decision to block third-party cookies in an upcoming version of Firefox, calling the action "a very dangerous and worrisome" and saying that the result ads will be displayed to users.
The fierce reaction came from the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) and the Association of National Advertisers (ANA), two established positions in blog posts March 14.Announcements

CyanogenMod founder Steve Kondik
leaves Samsung TouchWiz critical >> The Verge output
Samsung
Before leaving, Kondik had time to play with their new flagship former employer. While congratulating the Galaxy S4 to your specifications, which "blows the competition out of the water," comments on the changes to the user interface TouchWiz Samsung are not as complementary. Android developer believes that TouchWiz now "feels like it was sent a few years ago in the time to Froyo days." Kondik joined Samsung in August 2011, stating that he would work "in making Android more awesome."
19 months on the job. Do you see a difference? His departure remains a mystery. (Thanks @ rQUICK for the link.)
(virtual) Windows 8 hands with "Blue" build for Windows 9364 >>
SupersiteWhile my previous report on leaked Windows 8 "Blue" construction is based on the images published in a technical forum Polish amateur, since I got my dirty little gloves on building and installing in a virtual machine. Based on a quick run through the building, I can say that it is real and that blue is more or less characteristic combo pack / service pack we expected.
new applications: Alarm, calculate, sound recorder, moments of cinema. Too many other parameters available today without crashing to the desktop. (Thanks @ rQUICK for the link.)
learning large amounts of data: 40 million people in the context of Google search >>
When someone mentions mercury, talking about the planet, the god, the car, the element, Freddie, or one of about 89 other possibilities? This problem is called homonymy (the word itself is ambiguous), and while it is necessary for communication, and human beings are incredibly good at it (when was the last time a fruit merges with a giant high-tech company?), computers need help.
To ensure this, we are launching the WikiLinks Corpus: 40 million total ambiguity mentioned more than 10 million web pages - more than 100 times larger than the largest area next door (about 100,000 documents See the table below for reference counting and the entity).
Awesome.
Interruptions: FAA may loosen curbs on the use of electronic circular NYTimes.com ">>
Nick Bilton (which has been on this issue like a dog worrying a bone centuries):
According to people working with a working group of industry and the Federal Aviation Administration was established last year to investigate the use of portable electronic devices onboard aircraft, the agency provides announced a final this year to relax the rules for the reading devices during takeoff and landing. The change did not include mobile phones.
a member and an officer of the FAA, who requested anonymity because he was not authorized to speak publicly about internal discussions, said the agency was under tremendous pressure of people to use reading devices on airplanes, or provide scientific evidence why they can not.
So will you after approval.
HP ??Envy Spectre
TouchSmart XT Review >> The Verge
battery life is where the value of the TouchSmart Envy Spectrum XT collapses. In our battery test Verge, where there are a series of high-resolution images and websites via a wireless connection with the screen brightness set to a modest 65 percent, the laptop lasts 3 hours and 34 minutes. It is already one of the lowest scores, we saw a ultrabook - an hour less than competitors even shorter duration -. But you have not heard worse
When I tried to use the spectrum XT TouchSmart really my typical browser tabs workload are updated automatically, two counts of push e-mail, and Pandora music streaming in the background, laptop died after only 2 hours and 18 minutes of use. There is a word for it: awful. HP is currently trading at 5 hours, 15 minutes remaining, but I can not imagine a realistic scenario would be real computer.
trap ravages Volvo China >> Reuters
Swedish car manufacturer Volvo has found widespread cheating by its dealers in China, where retail sales inflated to obtain cash discount from the company to achieve volume targets.
