Google concedes defeat over China censorship
American society falls silently warning that Chinese users were seeking politically sensitive phrases
Google has reluctantly admitted defeat in his last effort in the fight against Internet censorship in China, after a year of behind the scenes riskiest search terms sensitive banned by the authorities.
research company quietly dropped a warning message is displayed to users when searching Chinese sentences politically sensitive, after Beijing has found new ways isolated from the Web.
Google and Chinese authorities have participated in a game of tense cat and mouse on the issue since May, when the function was published by the American company in an attempt to improve the search for Chinese citizens.
The confrontation reached its peak in December, when Google finally decided to quit the function, because users are still disconnected from the Chinese authorities.
A source in China said Google decided it was "against" technical dispute to continue, despite several attempts to circumvent it.
- A Google spokesman confirmed that eliminates notification features in December, but declined to comment further because of the sensitivity of the situation in China.
